With the 47th Annual Goodguys March Meet coming to Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA, over the weekend of March 10-12, many nitro racers have been getting ready for the nostalgia Big Go. A testing session netted some great photos and solid elapsed times last weekend.

 
Southern California contractor Dennis LaCharite driving his "Back in Black" Corvette, who ran a career-best 6.07/243.73 mph at Seattle last season, had some fuel system issues and ran a best of 6.30/236 in Famoso testing.
Top Fuel pilot Mendy Fry burns out in the Jennings & Scheele nitro dragster prior to a 1,000-foot shut off 5.93/198 mph pass -- the time slip boasted an eighth-mile speed of 206 mph! This new two-car team will also field a Chrysler-powered, 1970 Barracuda nitro funny car driven by Lee Paul.
Terry Cox, driving the Rodeck & Cox Cheetah III from Northern California, was testing a new combination.
