Emidio Catalano made the long tow from Toronto, Canada worthwhile by qualifying his ultra-clean '68 Camaro in the number-three slot for Super Modified in Atlanta with a 7.93 at 170 mph. He then went on to his first career final round, but fell to Ted Pelech's 1990 Camaro. Jim Huber won the postponed Super Mod final from Florida.

After five years on the circuit, Rick Moroso finally broke through in Atlanta with his first ญญ and second! ญญ Hot Street wins. On Saturday, Moroso won the delayed Florida race with an 8.822 at 151.02, thanks to a .010 holeshot over Todd Moyer, who ran 8.818 at 152.55 mph. Moroso then repeated the feat on Sunday with an 8.789/153.07 combination to win the Atlanta final round, again against Moyer, who went 8.841 at 153.60 mph. Despite battling a mysterious "popping" in the powerplant of her '69 Camaro, Annette Summer managed to win the Pro Street final over Hank Hill for the delayed Florida portion of the event. Hill got his revenge on Sunday, though, when Summer bowed out early and he went on to win the final round against Tony Gentile.
