Cowin was gracious after his career-best performance Friday.
"Darrell Gwynn hasan excellent hot rod to drive, and I just feel like
the luckiest kid under the sun. I'm having the time of my life. . .
. I'm a happy-go-lucky Aussie kid with the baddest hot rod at the Pomona
Fairplex at the moment. . . . I've pinched myself about six times, and
it's starting to hurt. So I know it's real."
Gwynn, however, didn't mind bragging about his new driver,
a fierce competitor he said he hired for his "big set of cojones." Said
Gwynn, "He reminded me of myself, except he was a little more mature
than I was at 22 years old.
"I'm kind of reliving some of my younger racing through
Andrew, because Andrew has that fire and enthusiasm I did at that age."
