TOP FUEL

Larry Dixon wins again. There seems to be a definite trend this season as Dixon got into the final round for his fifth time out of six races and then picked up his fourth Top Fuel victory. The Miller Lite Dragster ran 4.644/317.87 to beat Darrell Russell's 4.977/268.01 in the Billstein Engine Flush Dragster.

The rain was a concern to Dixon on Sunday. "The only thing I was worried about was as heavy as the rain was, whether the track conditions would hold," he said. "I was worried about the grip on the track. Obviously, it had enough for us in the final round."

Dixon defeated Roger Dean, Melanie Troxel, and Cory McClenathan to reach the final.

Kenny Bernstein looks a bit blue as his "Forever Red" tour was eliminated in the second round. He had set the track speed record at 323.27 mph during Friday qualifying.

He still had loyal fans in the grandstands who showed their support for his last competition at Bristol.

PRO STOCK

In Pro Stock, the story has been six races, six different winners. At Bristol, it was Warren Johnson's turn. The Professor earned the 88th win of his career with a 6.986/198.41 pass against Ron Krisher's 6.975/198.15. Johnson's GM Performance Pontiac Grand Am qualified No. 7 and the team worked their way through the crowd, defeating NHRA rookie Gene Wilson, George Marnell and V. Gaines.
