[Editor's Note: This is not a complete race report. Did any other
teams compete? Does Jok care that he only wrote about one team? Can
you tell he was a member of that one team? Did these guys have fun?
Is the celebration still going on?]

Team Cedar Falls Raceway started the event held at Cordova (IL) Dragway
Park with a distinct disadvantage: Each track could bring 50 team
members to earn points, but Team CFR brought only 34 racers. Their
advantage was they were collectively on a HOT STREAK!
After the first round of the Top (delay box) class, 16 of the original
19 racers were still in. In Modified (no delay box), 12 survived.
The Modified racers then went on a tear; at 10 cars the Team CFR racers
still had five racers left and after the round they had all survived.
That meant the last five cars in Modified were ALL Team CFR cars!
Unheard of -- and a statement to how tough No Box at CFR is. The Top
racers pounded away for a few rounds and eventually John Freeborn
and Tony Leonard were left at five cars.
In Modified, Dutch Hobbs faced off with Bob Haywood, both from Team
CFR, in a race for the prestigious title of Division 5 Modified Champion.
Dutch took the biggest win of his racing career and was all smiles
in the staging lanes after the race.
