Scavo, who finished 11th in NMCA Super Street points last year, made a big bid to improve on that with a final-round win over 1998 NMCA Super Street champ and No. 3 1999 finisher Jimmy Keen. Scavo took a .476 to .567 edge at the Tree and whipped Keen, 7.998 / 173.74 to Keen’s 8.221 / 172.61.

Rohe, the NMCA EZ street champ for the past years, crushed the competition with a blitz of 8.7-second times with his ’80 Mustang. The Lawrenceburg, Ind., driver, who set the NMCA record at 8.78 at Atlanta last year, totally buried that in the final with an 8.737 / 156.82 whipping of Andy Mears’ 8.94 / 152.54.

Defending NMCA champ Ruth Spires was nailed in round one by T.D. Holland, but husband Howard dropped him in round two and went on to a 10.863 / 128.90 to 10.852 / 134.30 win over Don Pennington in the Factory Street final.

Former Alcohol Funny Car racer Neighbor didn’t have to work that hard in the final ousting a red-lighting John Gifford in the Nostalgia Super Stock final. Neighbor, who finished No. 2 in last year’s standings, hit a 10.67 / 113.49 on a 10.50 to win.

Fittingly enough the Hot Street final came down to last year’s No. 1 and No. 2 drivers, Davis and Todd Moyer respectively. What should have been a great race was wrapped up early when Moyer shut his ‘92 Camaro down to an 11.86 leaving Davis’ ‘91 Daytona an 8.934 / 152.59 win.

Bruce Lagory (left) qualified number one in Real Street, but didn’t make it to the final round. Paolini’s Real Street (as opposed to Bogus Street, just kidding) came at the expense of Jeff Chandler’s ‘67 Chevelle. Paolini’s ‘94 Camaro was left on, but powered by to a 9.201 / 150.15 to 9.296 / 146.41 win.

Waters’ ‘87 Suzuki GSXR ran a final round 8.237/175.16 to eclipse Keith Dennis’ 8.327 / 174.48 in the Extreme Street Bike final, and Albright topped Jeff Rodick in the EF-11 final, Lamb dumped Mark Pippin in the EF-12 final, and Miller dumped Raymond Turner in the EF-13 wrap-up.
