VENEY/DUNN MAKE THE BOSS PROUD
Mike Dunn drove Darrell Gwynn's New York Yankees Top-Fuel car to another best for 90% nitro burners. Although they couldn't get past the second round, they did manage to raise the bar for Top Fuel cars with an astounding pass of 4.521/328.22.

Credit for the pass has to be given to the tuning expertise of Ken Veney (above), the excellent atmospheric conditions with temps in the high 60's, a brand new 400-ft concrete launch pad, and perhaps a newly developed traction compound. Congrats to all involved from DRO.

The pass: 60-ft - 0.834; 330-ft - 2.12; 1/8 mi - 3.058/269.78; 1,000-ft - 3.841
