Ashley Force went four rounds. Was Dad excited? You bet. (Tim Marshall photo)

The 2002 season is history, but while Force's Funny Car sat in the Pomona Winner's Circle its owner/driver ran down the staging lanes to see his daughter Ashley compete in the first round of Super Comp. After she won that round the excitable, proud father yelled, "This is BITCHIN'! She was so nervous up there!" The Force team had a good season. Ashley went on to four rounds of racing and the nitro side of the team finished 1-2, with Densham in fourth. As Gary put it, "I like to start again tomorrow."

[Editor's note: DRO will have Sportsman coverage from Pomona coming soon.]
