Patrick Wikstrom's 2000 Camaro, based in Gothenburg,
Sweden, was built by Tim McAmis to IHRA Pro Mod specs. His sponsor,
OFAB, provides service to ocean-going vessels and assisted in arranging
the transport of Wikstrom's car overseas. |
Both Swedes are leaving their cars in the States over
the winter and plan to enter the IHRA's first two races in 2003 before
shipping them home for the later start to the European Pro Mod season.

Bobby Lagana put his "Twilight Zone" Top Fueler
into the top half of the Rockingham field with a 5.046/284.56 pass,
but suffered a major engine explosion at the start of his first-round
match against rookie Tim Cullinan. |

Rick Jones put his hemi-powered Neon -- the
only Mopar in IHRA's Pro Stock class -- firmly into the quickest
field ever with a 6th-place 6.573-second pass. Jones fell in the
first round, however, to Pete Berner. He also attracted attention
near his pits with a cut-a-way version of the Super Series sportsman
car he builds at his Galesburg, IL-based shop. |
