FORCE IS GOOD FOR THE
SPORT
Thought your editorial about John Force
was right on. The man has accomplished more
than anyone else in ANY type of sport. To
accuse him of laying down to let Tony win
one is

ridiculous
for two reasons: 1) the man is too competitive;
and, 2) it's his name that draws the crowds
and the media attention, something the sponsors
(and NHRA) depend on.
If John Force hadn't created himself, NHRA
should have done it for him . . .

FORCE-LESS
Please don't include me in the fans that
think Force is taking a dive. Also don't
include me as a Force fan. The man has become
a parody of himself. When the camera is
on, he won't shut up, he will invade an
interview that does not include him, and
he will persist in trying to come up with
a new "Forceism" that only points out how
ridiculous he has become. I will always
be impressed by his string of championships,
but I have ceased to be impressed by him
personally. He is obviously very generous,
witness Gary whats-his-name, but he has
become so incredibly annoying to listen
to, I turn off the sound whenever he is
on spewing his disjointed thoughts. Great
draw? Not to me.

GUESS IT PAYS TO ADVERTISE
Reading my Digger while gazing at the Cascade
Mountain Range of the Pacific Northwest,
I saw the ad for DRO and saw the names of
a few people I have had the pleasure of
knowing and racing with. Jok is probably
not aware that he was the first track operator
to say yes when a snot nosed kid called
him about booking in a Midwest based alcohol
circuit. Jeff Leonard was always welcome
to ride along with us to Indy or wherever
my Dad had the van heading, and Jeff Burk
was one of those kind of people you always
enjoyed seeing. . .leave. Just kidding.
Well it sure sounds like a fun group. Keep
up the good work.
