REACTION TO TOM COMPTON'S DUI
WE'RE ALL EQUAL UNDER THE
LAW
Thanks to you for the story on Tom Compton's
drinking problem. Thanks to the courts in this
great land, I'm "sure" Tom will be treated the
same as me, 61-year-old, tired, broke drag racer,
not trying to beat everyone out of the last
buck they have like the master of all drag racing
bodies does. . . Tom needs to go to court without
any plea bargain and do the time for the "crime"
he and he alone did commit, period.
The less drunks on the road we have the less
injured and dead we will have, that's the bottom
line. If that means tom has to go, so be it!!!
Bye, Tom.
Sincerely
Ken Noel

COMPTON NEEDS TO GO
Well, it's my view HE HAS TO GO!
As a person that has never touched a drink
I think about drunks every day. I started to
think about them in 1985 when I was rear-ended
by a drunk that thought he would follow that
parked truck at 75 MPH. The resulting whiplash
and spine injures have taken their toll and
ended my days at the drags. I still ache and
have to watch what I do while trying to work.
Tom may be a smart man but he blew it this
time. As I said, "HE HAS TO GO!"

2 TOPICS: COMPTON AND TRACK
CONTROL
If Tom Compton is guilty of DUI he should pay
the same penalty as anyone. HOWEVER -- I would
be interested in his explanation as to what
he was doing in Watts. IT DON"T LOOK GOOD. I
don't think his leadership is all that good.
NHRA's contract with ESPN --SUCKS--- They can't
even get their programs on at the scheduled
times.
And about traction control -- They already
have a traction control device. It is called
a foot. These racers who need Timers, Delays,
Throttle-stops, and Traction control make me
sick. Why don't they just do away with the driver
and wheel their computer up to the line.
Thanks.
