PRO MOD NEEDS OLD CARS

Pro Mod, Mod/AA/Gas, Mod/AFX? Whatever you want to call it, it's been around for years. I've always loved the old pre-war coupes from the gasser era. When Pro Mod started with nitrous or blown competition I thought this is it, it's back. But (what) has happened? What made it good was the old cars! When they started to modify the old bodies, stretching, chopping them for speed they started to use later model bodies. Now what do you have? Modified Pro Stock. They all look the same again. Didn't this happen to the AA/Gas cars in the mid-seventies?

20-20- VISION?

NHRA = 3 blind mice. If they did not create it [IHRA, AHRA, etc.] it does not exist. Some times I am wondering why I am a member of a blind association.

WHERE IS THE AUDIENCE?

Just another example of NHRA "not getting it." Why continue to promote something that will keep butts in the seats for longer periods of time? Consider the hit on concessions, memorabilia, clothing sales, and the poor lonely manufacturers trying to push their wares.

It's gotten pretty absurd - cloned cars in every class, parity is too dominant, and true innovation is being governed into. . .nowhere.

I am sure seeing lots of empty seats during the TV coverage - maybe the suits ought to pay attention to the re-runs.

Damn, bring back the '60s-'70s for drag racing! Nostalgia is trying, but racing is still out of reach for most that would really help bring it to the forefront.

POTTY BREAK

NHRA Pro Stock should be replaced with the very wild Pro Mods. I go to a number of national events (NHRA) and I can tell you, all the Pro Stock (Highly sponsored bracket cars) cars provide me is a good time to take a piss and not miss anything important.

ASK THE FANS

It is a shame how NHRA just throws the very popular class of PRO MOD to the side as a piece of trash. These teams are completely professional and have race budgets and investments well over half a million dollars per year. Maybe if the powers that be had decided to dedicate as much time and effort in the PRO MODS, as they do in the Pro Stock class they would have seen the fan and racer excitement and realize the large support and following that they receive from the little guys, you know, the ones that pay the ridiculous ticket prices. Why not let them see what they came for.
