THE
MIDWAY IS THE PITS
Jeff: It is worse than you know. NHRA has told the sportsman
we cannot take a golf cart into the manufacturers' row. I
had a friend who flew in his private jet to Vegas to buy some
parts for his kid's race car and when we were told we could
not take my golf cart into the manufacturers row, he said
screw NHRA and called his private car and flew out of Vegas
back home on his jet. Now he is even having second thoughts
about getting involved with NHRA racing.

APPLEGATE UPDATE
Just read the story of Chris Applegate's accident and coma.
It was written in March 2004; what is her status, if known,
today?
Thanks,
Leslie Mickley
Sadly, she remains in the coma.-- Editor
KEEP ON -- TRUCKIN?
Good interview with Scotty---MAYBE what he needs is a NITRO
Monster Truck. Does anyone know if Monster Trucks have Rev
Limiters?

STRAIGHT SHOOTING
Great interview with Scotty. It reaffirms why I've always
been a Scotty Cannon fan, since way back in the On-Sat days.
He's the real deal... No Prima Donna bullshit.
I'm hopeful he'll find another ride soon, but until then it's
NHRA's
loss. They need more guys like Scotty to show up on race day.

DID ANYBODY TAKE MARKETING 101?
I have had a thought for some time now and was wondering if
you might help me. Actually it's more of a question. NHRA
Pro Stock car of Bruce Allen -- what the heck is Speedco?
I've done some homework and found out, but, as a person with
advertising and design background, I cannot believe that with
a billboard of this size the average fan has no idea what
it is. If you happen to be in the pits with these folks could
you ask them to put a bit more info on the car. For there
sponsor that is. I will soon be in a position to become an
associate sponsor on a race car and would certainly want a
whole lot more on the car than just a logo.
Just a thought.
Thanks so much,
