GEORGE IS TOPS

Just read your "Inner View" with George Howard. . . . It made my heart feel proud. He is the man I always thought he was. Kind hearted and not looking out for himself, just making it better for others. Making it easier for a family to be able to come out and see what all of us love so much. Letting our troops in FREE just choked me up. You are "The Man" George and maybe you have a plan. . .a plan I would like to be part of. Who knows what next year will bring in the eyes of George Howard.

I have raced a series he put on in the past. . .Remember The Sunoco Shootouts? It had TV, videos sold everywhere and lots of print coverage. It was a great time for everybody. Like my goofy interview on top end after I won Rockingham, I scooped up a big frog in my chute (not knowing this) I couldn't figure what the hell was wrong with my chute. . .jumping all over the return road. Needless to say my interview didn't make any sense at all because I was rather distracted. We all laughed about it after we figured out it was a frog. George, Pete, the camera crew and even the guy I beat all had a good laugh. George said those where the biggest and fastest frog legs he had ever seen...LOL

Maybe some folks will read this and learn from our pal George. . .It's not about looking out for #1, it's about being #1 in as many hearts as possible and I'm sure he will win a lot of our troops' hearts with his gratitude.

Sincerely,

Annette Summer

P.S. George, if you read this, please make it TURBO LEGAL PRO MOD. OK?

The following letter was forwarded to us by George Howard, owner of Huntsville Dragway. We thought our readers would like to see it too.

HELLO FROM FOB COBRA, IRAQ

George, this is Jim Kyle from Shelbyville, TN. I have a Top Dragster and cannot wait to get back and race at Huntsville. I have always raced drag cars of some type and had Huntsville Engines build me a new 540 blown Arias engine before I left for this mobilization for my dragster. We are hoping for 4:00s or even 3:90s when I return home this Fall from Iraq. We have been mobilized with the Tennessee Army National Guard since last June 2004. Most of us will have been away from family and the drag racing community when we return for 18 to 20 months.

Please remember all of the United States soldiers that are protecting the good old USA and protecting our freedoms when you can. I heard you were going to recognize the United States soldiers on the 4th of July Weekend races and I really appreciate your support! I will be following the drags at Huntsville on your web-page and THANK YOU from Iraq!

Jim Kyle
3/278th Regimental Combat team
FOB Cobra, Iraq, near the Iranian Border

P.S. My son and I are both here serving together in Iraq. THANKS AGAIN for your support of the military and its soldiers!
