NEW BLOOD NEEDED

Hey there, great article on the Ten Wides.  I raced back in '98, '99, 2000 with the NMCA in Drag Radial. If you look at your advertisements on the DRO board you will see an ad for Orlando's race and a yellow Camaro on the bumper. Well, that was my heap. My claim to fame so to speak.

Anyway, I for one agree that NHRA needs to bring some new blood to their program. I also believe that people relate to those cars and would enjoy them. I am also partial to the Drag Radial scene that is going on now. So a possibility of two classes would be cool. Do you think that an outlaw style combo would be more appealing or a "class rules" combo to level the playing field? I am available for dialog on this subject if you feel the need to discuss it. Keep up the good work.

NHRA NOT THE SAVIOR FOR 10-WIDE

Jeff, as you know, I also played somewhat of a role in the Rocket City Nationals show. Bringing the 10.5 cars and all the ORSCA classes to Huntsville was an honor for our organization and myself personally. I too was amazed at the turn out of the pro fuel cars. I also had my own issues with some of our racers. No one knows more than I the difficulties in promotions. In stepping up to larger venues with the Outlaw classes it has been a long

head butting session with the higher powers at some of the NHRA tracks we have been booking.

We in ORSCA are very proud of the achievements we have made in this. As much as I would love to see my dreams of higher ground in 10 wide racing. I would have to agree with many of the people on your site as well as ours saying they don't think NHRA will be the great saving grace of outlaw racing.

I just signed a contract today in conjunction with YEAR ONE to do a race at one of these famed facilities and the cost was staggering. It took 4 hours just to go over the contract that was every bit of a half inch thick. I think our form of great racing can be brought up in stature. TV coverage is one of our biggest goals and also one of our greatest expenses. With help out there to cover the growing cost of what we are trying to do I think Outlaw 10.5 racing will reach those goals without having to become the whipping children of some other sanction. We had one of the most successful racing series in grass roots racing last year without one penny of sponsorship. We stand here today not owing anyone a single dime. Imagine where we may go with great companies like Year One, Holcomb Motorsports, and TCI now helping us.

Thanks for all the great coverage DRO has given us. Ian and the people of DRO have been a great help.

THANKS FOR THE HUNTSVILLE MEMORIES

Mr.Burk, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated DRO teaming up with George Howard to put on the Rocket City Nationals. Great race! I have been reading your coverage of the event and enjoying the photos. I must agree with everything I've read on your website about the race. I'm a little surprised that $101,000.00 didn't attract the people who have complained the most about payouts in T.F. I mean geee...$101,000 for FIVE trips (required trips) max down the track? What's the problem there?  I, like you, expected almost all the teams to show up. I've never heard of a race where so many cars that pre-entered didn't show up. Well, whatever the reason, it was still a great race and my thanks to you, Mr. Tocher, and the rest of your crew for your efforts and support. I hope this support of Huntsville continues in the future.

Your website is the best of the bunch. I guess I feel that way because I agree with your views and I think your views are honest and right on the money almost every time. I think "Nitro on the 1/8th" has a future, at least here in the South. Thanks again for your support of George and Huntsville Dragway.
