1/8TH MILE? BAH!

I'd hate to see a fine facility like Bristol stricken down to a 1/8 mi. Yes, the motor speedway is one of the premier short track venues in NASCAR. Let's leave it that way. The dragway is plenty long enough to handle today's speeds. Keep hauling ass a 1/4 mile at a time.

BRUTON SMITH AND IHRA #1

Darr, I don't think the racers would do it. TOOO many races and the group would divide. IHRA always gave more to the racers for years and it still didn't work. IHRA was the ones who brought in Winston (Larry Carrier). I would love to see it, but don't see it as a good thing.

BRUTON SMITH AND IHRA #2

Darr, Pretty much agree with you on Bruton Smith story, but some of the IHRA tracks would need major improvements, more tracks and so on.

I don't think he would do much, if anything, for the sportsman racers also. Bruton is about money and I think down the line he would run T/F, F/C, P/S, Pro Mod, & Top Fuel bike and that would be his show.

I think it would be neat to see the sportsman race run divisional race like NHRA use to do. Remember when you could go to those meets and see West Coast T/F & F/C in Division 1 earning points towards a World Championship. Now, I think that would be good for the sportsman cars. At some point in a year have a National meet to crown the Sportsman World Champions.

I think I would enjoy that more than the Pros as the Pros is such a joke. I don't like to see a team owning 3-4 cars. You just don't have to many choices to root for anymore. Its so far out of price that the some teams can't compete. Just in the last 5 years look how many teams are gone.

If that's progress I don't want to see it.

WHAT IS THIS, ANDY ROONEY JUNIOR?

Has anyone else noticed...How small Erica Enders is? This is an unfair weight distribution advantage as compared to the pudgy Warren Johnson.

How about Ashley Force. She speaks very well, doesn't even sound like her father. (OK that wasn't a fair comparison.) Much more tube friendly than Erica. (Needs those media lessons like Dave Connolly had.)

Has anyone else noticed...Jerry Eckman is on the Koretsky PS crew. No wonder than they qualified #1 in Seattle. (Answers your nitrous question, Jeff..lol.) Has anyone else noticed Evan Knoll or Forrest Lucas sponsors almost everyone in the NHRA pro circuit. Has anyone else notice...Don Schumacher has a different shirt for every day of the week, but he wears them all in one day!

Has anyone else noticed Darrell Gwynn et al. are missing from the scene.  Has anyone else noticed...ball players must be getting smarter...I can't think of any that have dropped the big bucks since Larry Nance and Tom Hammonds.

Did anyone else notice...how bad Sammy Hagar looked at Sonoma (was hard to tell the difference between him and Big Jim Dunn). Worms must be fattening.

Finally, did anyone really think Kenny Bernstein was going to drive for the Mt. Clemens mafia? Talk about a conflict of interest. Maybe Auggie will throw you some money to promote NASCAR on your second team car.

SCATTER SHOT

The only good thing about qualifying 2 or 3 times in all-run shows is it gives you time to walk around the pits without missing much. Pre-race ceremonies can go away, especially at Indy. Indy has turned into a circus. Besides Jeg, I can't stand Schumacher racing. Most of all I can't stand Gary Scelzi; he was cool, but now he just SUCKS!

I'll stop bitching now. Keep up the good work.
