You are right Burkster. I could see a new sanctioning body formed just because of this. Even if Bruton Smith doesn't get involved, someone else could fund the new sanctioning body. Maybe AHRA resurrected from Spokane?
It seems to me that NHRA has long been ticking everyone off, and now IHRA seems to be following. I have to admit that I thought a lot of IHRA and was hoping that they would grow to at least equal status of NHRA. I remember the old days when we had 3 sanctioning bodies and I think racing was more balanced. I hope that someone picks up the ball that NHRA and IHRA have fumbled.

Can we say 'ANTI-TRUST'. In the history of the USA there are other dead carcasses of companies that pulled the same stunt only to have a good lawyer drag them before a federal court for anti-trust violations. IHRA looks as if it's on its death bed; another track (Tri-State) bolts to
NHRA. So it appears that the mud slinging is a desperate act to smear the competition.
The NHRA has become an arrogant bully who can't stand competition. If either of the major (?) sanctioning bodies were meeting the needs of the racer/track operator would there even be a need for the ADRL?
This great country was established on competition and the freedom to express yourself, guess the IHRA/NHRA forgot to read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. Or is it the almighty $$$$$? Go figure.

The NHRA suits demand that nitromethane only be burned in Top Fuel
dragsters, A/F dragsters and Funny Cars. They will never approve
doorslammer cars burning full loads of nitro. Why? Just because they are jerks. Nitro burning Pro Mods are an idea whose time has come.
The NHRA seems Hell bent on self burial in many areas. Their efforts against the ADRL are just one more way to wind down the relevancy of the current major event drag racing scenes.

Racers in general and in particular Bracket racers (the backbone of the sport) are pretty much fed up with NHRA and -- since the Baders left -- IHRA. We need every racer we can
get and the tracks need races that make a profit for them to stay in business. The internalbickering and lack of real vision are hurting us all in the long run and it seems that to many in power only look at what happens today with no concern about the future.Rockingham and Steve Earwood come to mind as this track, although hosting the IHRA Div bracket finals, has only a skeleton of a bracket program. (IHRA leased the track for this race.) In my eyes he makes the money from something he has very little support for. Yes, I am a bracket racer but I want the sport to survive for us all not just the rich and famous and the people who can afford to go to a "National" event every week.
