After
watching Liextreme's other DVD, 2Fast 2Real for Hollywood,
I was looking forward to seeing another entertaining "mockumentary."
But Liextreme's All Extreme DVD doesn't live up
to the standards set by 2Fast 2Real.
The tagline for All Extreme tells
the viewer to "Strap yourself in and prepare to be
completely blown away." Well, I didn't strap myself
in and I wasn't blown away.
While All Extreme covers a broader range of
extreme sports, from street racing to extreme boating, it
fails to include the things that made 2Fast 2Real
worth watching—funny anecdotes and random quotes from
extreme athletes. Instead, All Extreme relies mainly upon
fast vehicles, various stunts, and lots of hot women.
This
film has even more gratuitous eye-candy than 2Fast 2Real
for Hollywood. The narrator is an attractive woman
wearing a low-cut top, who most certainly was not hired
because she's an extreme athlete in her own right. Almost
every part of the movie had shots of women wearing very
little posing next to the various vehicles.
For instance, during the "extreme boating"
section, Liextreme practically stages an entire photo shoot
of a woman in a bikini riding on a moving speedboat. I ask
you, where are my hot, scantily clad men? What about my
needs, and the needs of healthy hetero women and gay men
everywhere?
The actual footage of extreme sports was solid
and decent. It simply wasn't as fun to watch without hearing
the pithy commentary from the athletes. If you want to watch
cars, boats, and motorcycles with hot women around them
for 90 minutes, then this film is definitely for you. But
if you are expecting an entertaining and funny movie, then
save your money.
