Todd Farrand: Unleaded Art

For DRO's "Off the Track" we look at a lot of items each year, but here's some drag racing, muscle car, and hot rodding art that is truly unique.

Southern California artist and car fabricator Todd Farrand has a very different view of the world and looking at his 1941 supercharged Willys coupe will take even the most grizzled veteran drag racer back to the "Gasser Wars" of the 1960's.  Farrand's attention to detail of these 1/6 scale metal art pieces comes alive with working steering, Hallibrand kidney bean wheels, Hilborn-style injector and elaborate detail while keeping it natural with a clear lacquered finish that will look cool on any executive desk.

The all-metal '67 Corvette Sting Ray has a full interior and detail right down to the side louvers.  Since the artist takes meticulous measurements of the original full-size vehicles and then goes to work interpreting those numbers into metal, he'll create this replica art of just about anything with wheels.

Farrand's metal artwork takes anywhere from two to four weeks for commissioned projects of your own racecar or hot rod and he's currently working on a front engine slingshot-style dragster, a Formula 1 Ferrari, some classic British MG¹s and period WWII military tanks.

You can find more information and how to order on Todd Farrand¹s website.

There you'll also find photos of other vehicles previously completed such as a '57 Indy Racer, Monster Trucks, street roadsters and a cool high-performance gas scooter. It's worth a look at this meticulous art, it¹s one of a kind.
