LAST MONTH'S ANSWERS

We had a repeat winner for the June quiz. Wes Tarkington again was the first person with the most correct answers. For the rest of you, here they are.

1. The NHRA national event track with the worst Funny Car speed mark, a sissy-like 310.24-mph, is C. Bristol Dragway

2. As of January 2002, the track with the worst NHRA Pro Stock speed mark, a syphletic 198.41 mph is (and we're leaving out Bandimere Speedway because of the way normally aspirated cars gag and die up there) A. The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

3. Current NHRA Top Fuel points leader Larry Dixon has never won this event E. All of the above

4. The Funny Car winner at the last NHRA Cajun Nationals in 1990 was B. John Force

5. The NHRA MATCO Nationals at Houston was discontinued after the 2000 race. The winningest Pro Stock driver with two wins was C. Jeg Coughlin Jr.

6. The first driver listed for Top Fuel in NHRA's National Performance Records was Jim Bucher in March of 1973 with a 6.07 elapsed time. What's the big deal about it? It's the last time anything other than an aftermarket Chrysler-based Hemi engine held the Top Fuel e.t. mark. Bucher's engine was a Chevy.
