AHRA had a good half dozen tracks where they consistently ran Grand
American events. To show the kind of competition they had at these races,
we drew from a hat that contained six tracks, Tulsa, St. Louis, Kansas
City, West Salem, San Antonio, and Spokane and picked a facility. Then
we listed all the pro winners at the race to give you an idea of the
caliber of action featured at a typical AHRA show. (Actually, there
was no hat involved, these were lifted from a 1980 Midwest Racer article,
likely penned by Bret Kepner. The later additions by moi.)
The remainder of the material constitutes arbitrary selections of some
AHRA high points by myself. All the accompanying stats are provided
to give a feel for the kind of product AHRA produced.
