THE LOADED QUESTION - ER "It's time to ... KILLLLLL ... "Match the Nickname With the Star." You talk about a first-round knockout? Our match game lasted less than one day and it was answered correctly. Geez, one day you guys are chicken cacciatore and the next you're chicken tetrazini. Okay, we'll do it your way. We'll have another match game, but this time it'll be match the racer with the hometown. You know, if I put "Chris Karamesines" in one column and "Chicago, Ill." in the other, there's your match. Since a number of racers have moved around in their careers, your DRO helpmates will put the year by the driver. For example, Don Garlits used to be out of Tampa, Fla., but now his address is in Ocala, Fla. So if we wanted the Tampa answer, we'd put "1963" by his name. Also, the answers are based on NHRA entry lists or the NHRA Winston Media Guide. The beauty of this match game is that it might be a little difficult, but since you have the answers in front of you, someone will make a lucky guess and win the valuable prize. And the prize? A free beer at the NHRA Sears Craftsman Nationals at Gateway Int'l or nifty, fake merchandise to be pawned off on some unsuspecting lump when the "Antiques Roadshow" hits your hometown.
Now, here are the correct answers to last week's quiz. Dennis Harrold was the first to rush the answers to us. Congratulations, your gift is in the mail.
