It may have been the greatest 10.5 race ever when the Outlaws
met at Huntsville Dragway for the 2nd annual ORSCA Outlaw
World Shootout.

Jack Barfield scored the richest Outlaw
10.5 purse ever with a $20,000 win in his 706-cubic inch nitrous
'68 Camaro, defeating fellow Georgian Craig Miller's '92 704
Camaro in a 4.64 to 4.69 all-Gene Fulton-powered final. Barfield
also won the 2004 Outlaw Racing Street Car Association points
Championship with third-round victory in 32-car field. The
team swapped a piston in 56 minutes before the final round!

John Lynam ran the Outlaw Pro Modified
tables with his South Carolina '63 Stingray, stealing Jason
Scruggs' track record with a 3.992/184.50 and dropping
Mike Neal in a 4.01 to 4.07 final. Sixty-two Pro Mods on
the Huntsville Dragway property made for marathon qualifying
sessions!

Tim Lynch rocked the Outlaw 10.5
world when he unleashed an all-time record 4.545 at 166
mph, (the quarter-mile equivalent of a 7.02/206!), on the
very last run of the very last qualifying session to lead
83 other hopefuls for the $20K ORSCA showdown. The Georgian's
turbo 417 small block Ford was last to the stripe by a
mere three thousandths of a second in a massive late-round
upset.
