Believe it or not this racecar parked in front
of the Zarah Hotel in downtown Grand Bend came
from the Strategic Air Command at Offutt Air
Force Base in Nebraska. We couldn't get any
info on how fast the turbine-powered roadster
ran. Love the two-wheel trailer!
Don Menard and sons' A/C Coupe was a cool ride.
Jim Nelson's Fiat set the speed record in this
class using a fuel-burning flathead for power
at 132.93. Nelson went to the finals with the
Fiat before losing to Voigt.
This is the famous Red Henslee roadster. Henslee
in the cockpit Holly Hedrick standing beside
him. This car at one time set the modified roadster
record at 157 MPH. We also believe this photo
was taken when Henslee won the Arizona State
Championships in Top Eliminator. (ed note: thanks
Doug Potvin for the info)
