Linda McCulloch, seen inside one of Don Prudhomme's hospitality trailers, is becoming so forgetful that hubby Ed wants her to go see a doctor. Linda shouldn't be overly concerned as she appears just as bright and cheerful as always. As a matter of fact Linda is happy to say she found the five-carat diamond ring "Ace" had given her in, of all places, the washing machine. Seems that Linda had thought the ring lost forever but one day while removing clothes the ring fell to her feet. They have determined the ring was lodged under the washing mechanism for three months and Ed's Levi's saved the day when they snagged the ring. And all this time Ed thought she had lost her memory. Ha! What do men know anyway.

Tim and Kristina Wilkerson celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on May 23rd while Tim was racing in Topeka. Sound familiar girls? . . . Kim and Greg Anderson will take a much needed vacation between July 5th and 10th. They will travel to the Cayman Islands. Kim is a dyed-in-the-wool race wife and believes in the theory a family that plays together, stays together. "My daddy taught me that when I was growing up and it's still good advice today." . . . Austin Coil's wife, Lisa, is recovering at home following a broken leg, and although she has physical therapy daily she is doing much better . . . Congratulations to Rona and Ken Veney as they celebrate 39 years of marital bliss on June 27th . . . Del Worsham was feeling rather sad over the illness of his and Connie's twin daughters, Katelyn and Madelyn, who were both suffering from high fevers. Connie didn't know about it until she landed in Chicago, "I felt bad for Connie as this was the first race she's been to without the girls." But Del realized that they were in good hands with Connie's folks and Del's sister Susan.

On a happy note congratulations are in order to Chris Karamesines and Sandy Shields who have set up housekeeping together. Chris is a very happy man and brags that Sandy is "a real keeper." She is the only woman Chris has had a meaningful relationship with in many years and the blissful couple were slated to stay over in Chicago on Monday after the race for some much needed tune-up work.

Congratulations to Cory and Amy McClenathan who recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary. Amy purchased the latest Ken Owens book for Cory, who just so happens to be the man who married them. Cory and Amy dated for 20 years before "jumping into anything suddenly," laughs Cory.

Sonnie and Doug Herbert's four-year-old daughter Jessie is seen celebrating her birthday on April 15th - tax day - happily displaying her birthday money. When not racing, the Herbert's stay fit by enjoying snow and water skiing and spend a good part of the summer season on Lake Norman, close to their Cornelius, North Carolina home. For the first time in 59 races Doug was unable to qualify for Top Fuel due to traction problems. A little side note - Doug is the nephew of Doris Herbert, who was the brainchild behind the fabled "Drag News." Last we heard Doris is leading a fulfilling life in Orange County, California.
