Tim,

I have a '68 Camaro that has been tubed, narrowed and backhalfed. It sits one inch lower on the driver's side than the passenger side. It looks like whoever welded in the subframe to the stock o.e. frame rails did not get them both level. It does not hurt the car's performance, but for me, it's ugly to look at. How much would a chassis shop charge me to fix this (ballpark) or whatever is wrong with it?

Matt

Matt,

That's a pretty wide open question without seeing the actual car, but I'll give it a shot. You may be able to get by with just relocating the shock and ladder bar or four-link mounts on one side. This would be a lot cheaper than rebuilding the rear frame section. It that were the case, I would estimate a cost of around $500-$600.

If the back of the car has to be rebuilt completely you could be looking at costs in the $3,000-$4,000 range. The frame rails don't have to be level for the car to work good, so I would look into the first option and fix it as cheaply as possible.

Good luck.
