Tim,
I have a 1973 Chevy pickup with leaf spring rear suspension and 295 BF Goodrich
tires, fairly good shocks, a 12-bolt posi rearend,
and 373 gears. I built the motor myself and

the big block has too much torque for the truck,
because it never hooks up in first gear and
my e.t.'s won't go lower than a 13.7.
I need some learning experience with suspension. Can you recommend any add-ons or
replacements to better my quarter-mile time?
Thank you.

Dominic,
Trucks are inherently bad at hooking up
because of the weight percentage available to
the rear tires. A good place to start would
be with a pair of ladder bars and tunable shocks.
Both of these items working together will greatly
enhance the traction your truck is getting.
You don't have to spend a ton of money on these
items and they are easy to install at home with
some welding experience.
If you are not comfortable with the installation,
a chassis shop shouldn't charge you too much
to do the work.
Good luck and let me know how it turns out.
Tim
