Hey Jim,

I have a question. I have an ‘89 Mustang backhalf 4-link 33x10.5'ws p/g 4.10 gear. Front weight percentage is 60 percent. Rear weight is 40 percent. Strange d/a shocks with 130 lb. springs. 632 bbc on nos appr 1200 rear tire upon release tran brake. Any suggestion on 4-link setup length and height?
Thanks for any help,

Chays

Thanks for the question,

Well first off there is the 10.5 wide tire to deal with. With the amount of horsepower you have, I suggest a progressive nitrous and throttle set up so it doesn't immediately blow

the tires off, especially if you are on a marginal racetrack.

When setting up the 4-link you should be looking for measurements in the high 50's out between 8 - 10 inches up. Set the preload for what you think to be ample to make the car go straight. It may take several runs to tune all these adjustments in properly. If there is any way to get some weight off the front of the car and move it to the rear it would help the way the car works and then 4-link could be shortened up. Start with the shocks in the middle on both bump and rebound. Remember a video camera and have someone tape the runs or reference your data logger. Analyze what the car does and what you feel in the seat and tune accordingly.

Thanks Jim Salemi
