The rocker arm layout certainly is reminiscent of an older model Hemi. Check out the spark plug holes beside the springs. You can also see the trick front-mounted MSD distributor used on this engine.

Interestingly enough, the new Hemi pan to carb weighs about 20 lbs less than the wedge motor that Larry is running in the Avenger now. On the dyno the 500 inch Hemi makes 1250 hp and just over 800 ft lbs of torque on racing gas. The new Hemi sits on the dyno at Larry Morgan’s shop.
