New Model '41 Willys for Jenkins and Mauney

Agent N2O reported last issue that ’99 IHRA Pro Mod Champion Shannon Jenkins will bring out his long awaited "new" ’41 Willys Coupe for the 2000 season. The body is reported to be massaged even more than the current model, especially in the nose area which is supposed to be highly modified to improve the aerodynamics of the car. Now we hear that Tommy Mauney will also have a new ’41 Willys for 2000. This is very interesting since in the past IHRA officials have said that they wouldn’t allow any more ’41 Willys in the class, but would allow Jenkins to continue to run his body as long as he wanted since it was "grandfathered". Now, not only can Jenkins bring a new body to the party but Tommy Mauney can also bring a ’41 Willys. Very interesting if true.(more)
