Wady,

I have a rear engined dragster with a 355 small block Chevy and a powerglide. It runs on alcohol and has a 4150 Holley carb reworked to 950 cfm and an Enderle 80a belt drive pump.

I would like to install a plate nitrous system. My question is, can I use the plate system and plub it so the existing pump supplies both the carb and the plate system? It always seems like it has more fuel than it can use.

Thanks for your time.

Bill

Hi Bill,

Yes, you can use the existing pump for both carb and plate. My suggestion would be to run the plate system off of a separate bypassing fuel regulator so that you can have total control of the fuel signal at the nitrous system. You mentioned that the engine always seems to have more fuel than it can use, so you would be able to really fine tune the performance in your engine this way. By turning down the fuel pressure and adjusting the nitrous jetting in your system you will have more control of your final tune up.

Since your alcohol engine runs so much cooler, you will have the ability also to use timing and timing retard to your advantage as you will probably will be able to run more advance to enhance your fuel burn and really step up the performance in your program.

Bill I hope I have answered your question and if I can help more please write me.

Wady
