Mike,
I hate to bother you, but I have a 1956 Chevy Bel Air with a stock 265 and a powerglide transmission. The trans just started not up-shifting. When it's cold it does fine, but once it warms up, it just will not shift from low to drive. Any ideas? The fluid level is fine.
Thanks for your time.

Jim,
The old iron glide is showing
its age. Sounds like somewhere inside there
could be a pressure drop off as the fluid warms
up and thins out. Possibly a pressure test could
show this, but it would take a visual inspection
inside to really find it.
The front or rear pump may
be worn, rubber seals may be hard, etc. Possibly
even a governor problem. It really needs to
be checked out by a professional.
