Time for ‘The Million’

Last year’s winner of the main event was “Johnny Bracket Racer” Ezell of Lafayette, LA.

One of the longest running Big Buck bracket races in the USA will run Saturday, Oct. 20, at Montgomery (AL) Raceway Park. "The Million" was founded 23 years ago by the legendary race promoter George Howard. Several years ago Randy Folk obtained the rights to the event and it has continued to grow under his leadership.

Triple 25’s paying $25,000 to the winner run Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Crossnoe named track manager at Virginia Motorsports Park

Track-prep specialist Tyler Crossnoe has been named track manager at Virginia Motorsports Park by owner Tommy and Judy Franklin. Crossnoe has also signed on for another season as the track prep director for the PDRA. Crossnoe will relocate to Virginia from Tennessee and begin working at VMP in December after fulfilling the rest of the obligations on his 2018 schedule.

“What we’re most excited about is having someone with his passion and vision for drag racing,” said Tommy Franklin. “It’s another step in the direction we’re trying to take the track. We’re making a lot of changes and adding talented people to our staff so we can be better prepared to put on big, successful events.”

The PDRA runs its 4th annual Brian Olson Memorial PDRA World Finals Oct. 18-21 at VMP.

Livingston added to ownership of National Trail Raceway

Jay Livingston grew up in the family business of managing drag racing facilities in the northwestern U.S. and has relocated to Columbus, OH, to become the new General Manager and co-owner of National Trail Raceway.  Livingston’s current duties include finalizing remaining events on the 2018 schedule and planning the 2019 season.

Chris Payne, who purchased the facility from NHRA in 2017, will continue to be involved in the background, but racers and fans will see Livingston step to the front of facility leadership and drive the continued growth of National Trail Raceway.

"I believe our ideas to make this the hub of racing in central Ohio can be realized with our knowledge of the racers, the fans and all the business owners that support the racing community,” Livingston said. “It is my expectation that once the racers see how we operate the track, the community will embrace us with open arms."

Off the Track: Value of Cars on Jerry Seinfeld’s show

Jerry picked up former “Seinfeld” co-star Julia Louis-Dreyfus in a silver 1964 Aston Martin DB5 with an all-aluminum 280 horsepower straight-six engine, a car most famous for being driven by Sean Connery in the classic James Bond film Goldfinger. So far it is the most expensive car seen on Seinfeld’s new show.

Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" is one of the more popular shows on Netflix and has been running for ten seasons. In the show, famous comedian Jerry Seinfeld has coffee and a fun discussion with another famous funny person, such as Jay Leno, Dave Chappelle, or Ellen DeGeneres.

The car Jerry drives to pick up his guest usually is the star of the show. Black Book, which tracks valuation histories on collectible autos, recently conducted an analysis of the value of each of the cars that have been showcased on Seinfeld's show. Below are the top-ten most-valued autos that have been featured on the show, according to Black Book.
