Midday (2:30 p.m.), the Nostalgia Super Stocks pulled into the staging lanes, some 10 strong. All in all, it was a decent group with low e.t. going to John Grinwald’s “Asphalt Elephant” 3,695-pound, max wedge ’62 Dodge Dart establishing low E.T. with a 9.56, 141.24. Of the 10 two broke. The “worst” E.T. was Larry Quinn’s “Blast From the Past” ’62 Pontiac with a 10.93. The cars will be paired up later based on ET and ran heads-up!!

Of special interest was Larry Pfohl’s ride. Pfohl’s drove an exact duplicate of the Sox & Martin ’68 Barracuda featuring 446-cid with dual Carter four barrels, and 3,100 pounds on the tire. The thing looked like it leapt right off the cover of an old Super Stock magazine 10.66, 125.43.
