KALIVODA TAKES GRUBNIC'S OLD
JOB
Aussie
Dave's new gig with Kalitta Racing leaves the
seat open in Bill Miller's BME dragster. That
vacancy will be filled by second generation
Northwest nitro driver Brady Kalivoda, who first
entered NHRA Top Fuel competition at the 2001
Seattle race. He has raced at Seattle's Pacific
Raceways since 1994. As 30-year-old Kalivoda
put it, "This is precisely the opportunity I
was looking for, this is a car I'm really excited
about. Bill runs a first-class operation, I'll
show up at his Nevada shop with my helmet and
driving suit next Monday."
Kalivoda raced last fall at the 18th annual
NitrOlympics in Hockenheim, Germany driving
the Dakota Industries top fueler of Rico Anthes.

lives close to the Gainesville, FL facility,
NHRA has re-paved the first 660 ft of the track

water
coming up through the surface. The same source
tells us that they are completely re-paving
the return road from the top end of the track
to the pits. According to the Agent's source
the first laps on the new surface will happen
a couple of weeks prior to the Gators.
Let's see, last year NHRA rented the track
at Orlando so the sportsman racers could race,
this year they are re-surfacing the track and
return road. Maybe the sportsman racers who
viciously attacked Tom Compton and the rest
of the NHRA management will have to reconsider
their opinion...naw, those guys never let the
facts influence their thoughts.

NEW PAINT FOR THE GREEK
Chris Karamesines will campaign his Top Fueler
with a brand new paint scheme courtesy of legendary
artist Kenny Youngblood. The new paint is being
applied at Krazies Kustom in Boca Raton, FL
and lettered by the famous Greg of Akron. "The
Greek" is still after it for the 2004 season
and will be coming to a track near you. [1-9-2004]
