According to one press release
from the PR folks at the just-concluded
Tulsa "Chili Bowl" indoor race for midget
race cars, Don Prudhomme's shoe, Ron Capps,
was involved in one of three major crashes.
According to the "Chili Bowl" PR folks,
Capps broke a bone in the crash he was involved
in. A later press release on NHRA.com corrected
the gaff. Capps didn't break a bone, just
badly bruised it and probably put a big
'ol hematoma on Capps ego. |
The Agent hopes that
Capps' boss doesn't bar him from oval track
racing after this. The sport badly needs
more guys like Capps who will drive the
wheels off of anything that has them.

motorcycle star Reggie Showers was not going
to return to NHRA competition was that he couldn't
find the funding. We then mildly chastised NHRA's
PR department for not doing more to help Showers
find a sponsor. It turns out, according to NHRA,
that Showers was offered and accepted a very
lucrative deal as a motivational speaker and
also has a desire to spend more time with his
family this year and that's the real reason
he won't be racing. None of that appeared in
the press release we got.
