LEWIS, THE NEXT GENERATION
As if veteran ace photographer Ron Lewis hadn't
already cornered the market on drag racing
photography, here comes an addition to the
dynasty. Ron's son took this photo of the Holy
Toledo Jeep funny car at the California Hot
Rod Reunion. Drag Racing Online is delighted
to be the first to run this byline: (photo

NHRA SAYS NO TO SOME IMPORT
RACERS
Regular reader
Marty Staggs
sent the Agent
a note a while
back saying
that since
the NHRA import
series was
going to have
a Quick 16
class at their
races he was
looking forward
to running
his eight-second
V-dub
powered altered.
Not so fast,
said NHRA,
and informed
the Division
7 racer that
dragsters and
altereds aren't
legal to compete
at those events.
That's a real
bummer for
some real proponents
of import power,
says the Agent. [10-8-2004]
CANNON
BACK IN A FUEL
COUPE?
One of the
Agent's sources
close to the
Del Worsham
camp says the
deal to bring
Mitch Stott
and his Radiac
Abrasives sponsor
to that team
and a third
car has fizzled
out. The newest
driver rumored
to be looking
at that
program is
Scotty Cannon.
Just a rumor
for now but
it would be
good to see
the Mohawked
One back in
a fuel coupe. [10-8-2004]
VP
BUILDS NEW
TERRE HAUTE
FACILITY
VP Racing
Fuels, Inc.,
an industry
leader in the
production
and distribution
of racing fuels
and other performance
products, has
opened a new
plant in Terre
Haute, Indiana. According
to Jay Farnsworth,
VP's Midwest
regional manager,
the new $1.4
million state-of-the-art
distribution
center will
serve VP's
Midwest region,
which consists
of Indiana,
Ohio, Michigan,
Kentucky, Tennessee,
Illinois, Missouri,
Iowa, Wisconsin,
Minnesota and
North Dakota.
Located on
10 acres of
land, the plant
includes eight
20,000-gallon
storage tanks
along with
6,000 square
feet of warehouse
space. Phone
numbers for
the Midwest
facility have
changed along
with the address:
4100 E. Steelton
Ave., Terre
Haute, IN 47805,
phone 812-466-1175,
fax 812-466-1675.
VP will own
the new plant,
unlike its
previous facility
in Terre Haute,
which had been
leased since
1983. The
capacity of
the new plant
will be greater,
enhancing VP's
production
capabilities
and complementing
its other facilities
in San Antonio,
Texas; Newark,
Delaware; Wildomar,
California;
and Barnett,
Georgia. [10-8-2004]
