TUTTEROW GOES INTO TEENS AT THE 'BIG DOG'
One of the Agent's operatives at Piedmont
for the Thursday night session of the $50,000
to win "Big Dog" street race called
to say that veteran match racer Todd Tutterow
ran his brand new ex-IHRA Pro Stocker with
a supercharged "big" small block
Ford and blew the opposition away with a 4.19
blast. Seems like the rules for that "Pro
Street" race allow 2650-lb supercharged
small block-powered Pro Mods to compete. The
Agent would like to ask what ever happen to
3000-lb street cars with working windows, doors,
lights, and a VIN number? Ah well, time marches
on. Look for complete coverage of the
event next week in DRO. [10-8-2004]
ANOTHER WALLACE GETS NOSTALGIC
ADVERTISEMENT

DRO columnist Dave Wallace Jr. sent this photo
of veteran journalist Dave Wallace Sr. getting
a snoot full...of nitro that is. Wallace snapped
this shot while his pop was sitting between
the pipes of the Doss, Clayton & King Top
Fuel Dragster, restored to "original-plus" condition
by owner-driver Wayne King (pictured) and burning
pure nitromethane.
The senior Wallace, now 77, still hasn't delivered
a long-promised story to DRO, but from the
looks of this photo obviously there is still
hope. [10-8-2004]
