EDELBROCK EXHIBIT AT MOTORSPORTS
MUSEUM
If you're planning to be in Pomona, CA for
the NHRA World Finals or the 2005 Winternationals,
ankle on over to the Wally Parks Museum to
see the "Edelbrock: A Performance Legacy" exhibit,
running through Feb. 14, 2005. Several famous
cars will be on exhibit, including the #27
Kurtis Kraft midget; the original 1932 Ford
roadster that Vic Edelbrock Sr. raced on the
dry lake beds in Southern California; and a
one-off SS 350 1967 Camaro experimental drag
car engineered by GM's Herb Fishel.
"Vic has a lot of rare cars in his collection,
so we plan on rotating some of them during
the exhibit," said Greg Sharp, curator
of the Parks Museum. "And there are other
privately owned historic cars out there that
tell the Edelbrock story as well, so some of
them may be included too. This will keep the
exhibit fresh with new things to see." [10-26-2004]

TESTING 1-2-3
With
plenty of drag racing action in the L.A. area
this weekend -- Chevy vs. Ford at LACR, Pacific
Street Car Association Fall Nationals at California
Dragway, a muffler-only event at Irwindale
Dragstrip and NHRA's Sport Compact at the Pomona
Fairplex strip -- some sport compact teams
were hunting for a last-minute place to test
new tune-ups for their Finals.
After DRO made a couple of phone calls to
Fontana's manager Dave Danish and PSCA's Mel
Roth, everybody agreed to welcome the sport
compact teams into the PSCA Friday Test-n-Tune
at California Dragway. Gates open Friday morning
at 10:00 with a $20 per car entry fee.
A tip of the Agent's fedora for the great
cooperation that continues to be shown among
the SoCal dragstrips' management. (Zak
