MORE PRO MOD NEWS AND NOTES
The Agent hears that both Mitch Stott and Scotty Cannon are without sponsorship
for the 2005 season. Supposedly Stott's long time sponsor, Radiac, opted out
of the racing sponsorship for business reasons and Cannon's deal with Oakley
had just run its course. Reportedly Cannon has told fellow racers that he will
park his race car if no sponsorship is found. The Agent thinks both of these
racers will probably continue to race on the 1/8th mile tracks close to their
homes in the Southeast at Outlaw Pro Mod events.
Did you see the Gotham City racing signage on the back
of Scotty Cannon and Frankie Taylor's Pro Mods at Vegas?
Supposedly without the financial help from Ashley neither
racer would have made the trip to Vegas. A tip of the Agent's
fedora to good guy Mike Ashley.
The Agent put up a note that newly crowned IHRA Pro Mod
Champ Mike Janis has a new Dodge Stratus but in the last
few days he's been hearing that Janis may be building a
'72 Opel GT like the one fellow Buffalo racer Jim Oddy
had in the Seventies when he ran one as a AA/GS.
Speaking of the Buffalo, New York area, we got this photo
from the guys at G-Force Race Cars of their almost completed
'67 Camaro. They sold their '63 split window 'Vette after
the turmoil about the proposed new NHRA rules and built
this slick looking '67. They tell us they will continue
to run the Chevy Wedge combination Jim Salemi and Mike
Stawicki ran last year. Look for this car to debut at the
PRI Show in December. [11-18-2004]
RECTOR JOINS TRUSSELL AS TUNER
Veteran racer and tuner Jimmy Rector, most recently with
Pro Mod driver Mitch Stott, will be joining Paul Trussell
Motorsports as a tuner for the car driven by Ed Hoover.
The team will probably run 10 events on the NHRA circuit,
but no word yet on how many IHRA events they will attend.

CAPPS MAKES IT OFFICIAL
Confirming what was already pretty well known,
Ron Capps officially left Snake Racing on Nov. 17.
"Our plan is to continue racing with Tommy Johnson
Jr. and Larry Dixon next season," said team owner
Don Prudhomme, "while also considering other opportunities
that would allow us to field either an additional Top Fuel
dragster or Funny Car in 2005." [11-17-2004]
