AMS STAFF LEASING PRO MOD SERIES FINALLY A REALITY?

After literally months of rumors, negotiations and false starts, the NHRA and the Tommy Lipar/Dave Wood group have reportedly signed a contract that will ensure that Pro Mods will continue to be a part of the NHRA drag racing series for a least one more year.

As first reported in DRO over a month ago, the rules will be what have been reported here many times—more overdrive for blown cars; turbocharged engine combinations will be added; and late model body styles will carry a weight penalty.

Pro Mod racers will now have to make a decision when it comes to chasing a Championship because three to five of the NHRA Pro Mod dates will conflict with IHRA dates. Look for a press release with all of the

information on www.NHRA.com or www.AMSProMods.com for more information.  (11-19-2004)

A PRO MOD CIRCUIT FOR CANADA

It's just in the very beginning stages but Agent 1320 hears that there is a circuit being put together for Canadian Pro Mod racers who generally don't go South of their border. Reportedly there was a meeting with about 16-20 drivers who said they would participate. There could be as many as six races with tracks like St. Thomas, Cayuga and Grand Bend holding events. Reportedly a gentleman by the name of Bruce Mullinare (the Agent is very unsure of the spelling and apologizes in advance) would be the man in charge of the circuit.

The Agent hopes this circuit happens because he has been to a few Pro Mod races in Canada and can honestly attest to the fact that Canadian race fans know something about drag racing, spectating and drinking beer. Party on Garth! [11-19-2004]
