A CORRECTION AND
A SUGGESTION
First, DRO missed the call on the engine in the Scranton
Brothers Toyota. Jeff Burk called it a four-cylinder when
it is in reality actually an inline six (2JZ Toyota Supra)
engine. Our apologies to Matt Scranton and Tirso San Juan.
Editor Burk was very impressed with the fact that those
two turbocharged six-bangers were the first in history to
qualify for a Pro Mod show.
So impressed, in fact, that DRO suggests that
the folks in charge invite Scranton and San Juan as a couple
of the four wild card entries that will invited to the first
AMS/TLR event in March at the Gainesville. Want to really
open up Pro Mod to all fans and racers? Bring in the imports!

FOLEY & LEWIS ADD SECOND TOP
FUEL DRAGSTER
Top Fuel driver Doug Foley and partner Tim Lewis have announced
the addition of a second Top Fuel Dragster to campaign in
the IHRA for the entire 2005 season. Foley & Lewis signed
Torco Racing Fuels in November for the first car and the
Torco brand will be on the second car as a Major Associate
Sponsor. M&R Drywall, Seacoast Supply and Grabber Drywall
Products are also along for the ride.
Sophomore driver Rick Cooper of Boise, ID will drive the
second team car. Cooper qualified at half the events he
drove at during the 2004 IHRA season. Foley & Lewis
plan to do some early season testing with the second car
at Bradenton Motorsports Park, Florida and a match race
against Bobby Lagana in Aruba in February. [12-21-2004]

A LIMO RIDE YOU WON'T FORGET
This is a press release the Agent just couldn't let pass.
Michael "Mad Mike" Hughes -- the Guinness Book
of World Records' holder for the longest jump in a limousine
-- and eBay are auctioning off one open passenger seat for
the Mad Man's ultimate jump at the Horseshow (we think he
means the Horseshoe) Casino in Las Vegas. Hughes will attempt
the jump of almost 400 feet using a 50-foot ramp to launch
his custom turbo-powered Lincoln stretch limo over the Casino.
To absorb the blow from the landing, "Mad Mike"
Hughes wraps himself in bubble wrap. "It sounds funny,
but bubble wrap works the best," he says. Evidently
the minimum bid to ride in the limo is $100,000 -- but that
probably includes the bubble wrap. [12-21-2004]
