JEG'S ENGINE MASTERS CHALLENGE PT III:
BAN THE BRITS?
The Agent never knew how big a deal the EMC is but he
is beginning to get the clue. Evidently, the powers that
be at the EMC decided that when British drag racers/engine
builders built a one of a kind small block Ford engine
based on an ultra-rare Ford Windsor

block and heads, it
was illegal. According to a piece in Eurodragracer.com
the team arrived with their engine only to find that either
they hadn't conformed to the EMC rules or hadn't been notified
in time to make the necessary changes. The upshot was that
initially the team wasn't even going to be allowed into
Bill Mitchell's shop to watch, but cooler heads prevailed
and, although they didn't get to compete with their Ford
Windsor, the team from England got to watch. We're sure
someone will clue the Agent into what really happened.

KAASE'S EMC WINNER SBF TO BE AUCTIONED FOR CHARITY
Woody Woodruff from the Jegs organization called the Agent
to let him know that after Jon Kaase picked up his check
for wining the EMC with his 700+ hp small block Ford, he
graciously decided to send the engine out to the Barrett-Jackson
auction that takes place in Phoenix, AZ sometime in January
to be auctioned off. All of the proceeds from the sale
will go to the Jegs Foundation for Cancer Research.
Always wanted a 700hp, Kaase-built small block Ford? See

BERNSTEIN AND KALITTA?
The Agent keeps hearing the juicy rumor that Kenny Bernstein
may be trying to find a way to put together a program so
he can drive a fourth Conrad Kalitta Top Fuel car. Agent
1320 made a call to the Kalitta organization just to check
out the rumor and was told that although Kalitta Racing
had heard that same rumor that currently is was still just
that -- a rumor.
There is no doubt that Kenny still has the desire to drive
and what driver wouldn't want to get into one of Kalitta's
rocket ships. However, with Kenny's commitment and loyalty
to the Budweiser folks he probably would have some obstacles
to overcome. Still maybe Anheuser-Busch would like to promote
one of their other brands. (Jeff Burk photo) [1-4-2005]
