ADRL TO OFFER TWO PRO MOD FIELDS
You have to give Kenny Nowling and his ADRL group credit
for actually coming up with a Pro Mod plan that should (but
won't) please everybody. At his ADRL races Nowling is going
to have an eight-car blown/turbocharged Outlaw Pro Mod class
where virtually anything goes. The winner will take home
a cool $10,000 with a grand to qualify.
There also will be a nitrous-only Outlaw Pro Mod class
that pays half what the blower class does. Now before all
you nitrous guys get up on the tire about the payout for
your division, pay attention to this twist. A nitrous racer,
if he feels he can be competitive, can compete in the unlimited
division but a blown or turbo car can't drop down in class.
A big, big tip of the Agent's fedora to the ADRL group for
coming up with what may be the fairest program yet for both
blown and nitrous racers. [1-10-2005]

IT'S A 'MEMBERSHIP ENHANCEMENT'
Phil Burgess, National Dragster and NHRA.com Editorial Director,
wanted to clarify an earlier item in which the Agent said
the official NHRA website soon might have a pay-per-view
section. Burgess explained that, instead, it will be a section
available to NHRA members only. So, in order to read the
section, you have to buy an NHRA membership. [1-10-2005]
FEDERMEYER'S FORD WINS GOODGUYS
PROMO
Rick Federmeyer, a 41-year old Goodguys member from Anacortes,
Washington was selected as the national winner of the Goodguys/Ford
Racing "Ford in a Ford" promotion. Federmeyer's
low-slung customized '54 F-100 got the nod over 14 other
contestants who were selected as finalists for the Ford
in a Ford promotion throughout the 2004 Goodguys National
event season. Ford Racing will present him with a brand
new crate engine from the company's catalog. Guess it's
a safe bet this truck never touches the dragstrip. (photo
