GOIN' BALLISTIC AT THE ROCK
Jets,
Top Fuel Harleys, Top Fuel Dragsters and Pro
Mods are among the variety of vehicles which
will be in attendance at Rockingham Dragway's
Pro Winter Test-Fest to be held Feb. 26-28.
Bill Furr's TF Harley, the Rex Stevens TF dragster,
and Quain Stott's two-car Pro Mod team, and
others will be getting into competition mode
during a free test session at the famous North
Carolina IHRA track.
There will be unlimited free testing on Thursday and Friday, with the two quickest racers returning on Saturday for a Chicago-style race. The two quickest Pro Mod and Pro Stock cars will race for a cash purse in each of the two classes. Kevin Martin's "Ballistic Eagle" jet bike (photo) and the jet Funny Cars driven by Dick Rosberg and Chris Gould also will make runs on Saturday.
In addition, owner Steve Earwood has a $2,000
to win bracket race that same weekend -- with
no entry fee. In addition, editor Jeff Burk
(yes, THE Jeff Burk) will be covering the event
for DRO. Truly, something for everybody. (photo
