MILLICAN AND MORE MILLICAN

Clay Millican is scheduled to appear on SPEED Channel's live television show WindTunnel with Dave Despain on Wednesday, March 24, at 10:00 p.m. EST. The live interview will take place at the Werner Enterprises headquarters in Omaha, Neb., and fans may e-mail their questions for Clay prior to the show at windtunnel@speedtv.com, or may call-in with questions during the live segment of the show at 1-866-W-TUNNEL.

The April issue of Worth magazine has a great story on the sport of drag racing and Top Fuel racer Clay Millican entitled "Life In The Fast Lane" authored by Jeff Huneycutt.

The spread, which begins on page 110 and ends on page 113, covers the excitement of the sport, the costs involved, and the exceptional value sponsors receive in comparison to other forms of motorsports. Team owner Peter Lehman also explains his experiences with corporate sponsors and there is a glossary of drag racing terminology.

Worth magazine can be purchased at newsstands around the country. Visit www.worth.com for more information. (3-24-2004)

BUT DID HE GET THE SHOT?

So, you think being a drag photog is an exciting, cushy job? UK shooter Andy Wilsheer was busy doing his work on the top-end, looking through the lens during Gatornationals Alcohol Dragster qualifying, when one of his fellow photogs yelled, "Incoming!" In a freak incident, a weight dislodged from the Darien & Meadows A/Fueler driven by Ashley Force, and bounced along the top of the concrete wall. The fast-moving projectile hit Andy in the upper right leg a couple of inches from the (ahem) family jewels. The top-end medical staff was right on Andy prepping him for the helicopter shuttle to Shands Hospital in Gainesville.

Andy will be okay and has slowly begun walking again as his broken leg heals. One of the perks to his hospital recuperation is the visitor's list ranging from other veteran drag photographers to John Force, Jerry Darien, Ashley Force and NHRA's Graham Light. HIRATA READIES INJECTED NITRO DRAGSTER FOR SAN ANTONIO

Dave Hirata, an A-Fuel competitor since 1998, will be one of the drivers to contest his injected nitro dragster in the Top Fuel category at the IHRA season opener in San Antonio. In 1999 and 2000 he held the NHRA national record for e.t. and mph and has four national event wins and three divisionals.

"I don't know how familiar IHRA fans are with the injected nitro cars," Hirata said. "I think we can put on a heck of a show. These cars look like a Top Fuel car going down the track. You've got the nitro smell, plus they crack and pop like no one has probably ever heard. It is a totally different sound."

The Agent can't wait to see how the injected nitro racers do against Clay Millican, who has dominated the Top Fuel class for the last three years. (3-24-2004)
