DRAGSTRIPS IN THE NEWS
Agent 1320 got a note the other day from Larry
Hensley at Darlington Dragway to say that Larry
was no longer managing and promoting the track.
According to the note, Carlton Phillips and
Johnny Rocca sold their interest in the track

In other news, the Agent's favorite eighth-mile
facility, Lancaster Dragway, may have changed
hands. Ralph Galluzzi sold the dragstrip and
paved oval to racer Jim Reid who has raced both
oval track and straight line. In case you've
never been there, the eighth mile dragstrip
at Lancaster is part of the front stretch of
the oval track. It is a great track to visit
on a Friday or Saturday night when they run
Quick 8 programs. [3-9-2004]
SNAPCASE MAKING MUSIC FOR NHRA ESPN2 BROADCAST
Jon Salemi (when he isn't crewing on Mike Stawicki's
'63 Pro Mod that is sponsored by the band Snapcase
or running the G-Force Race Cars fab shop for
his brother Jim Salemi)
also happens to be the lead guitar player and
a vocalist for Snapcase. Well, Kevin Wilson,
music director for ESPN, happens to be a Snapcase
fan contacted the band and hired them to cut
a 60-90 second song to be used as the intro
music in and out of commercials during EPPN2's
broadcasts of NHRA's POWERade Drag Racing series.
A tip of the Agent's fedora to the band and
Kevin Wilson. Oh, by the way, the Snapcase-backed
'63 will make its 2004 debut at the Gatornats
as part of the AMS Staff Leasing Pro Mod series.
