McBRIDE FASTEST ON TWO WHEELS
Larry "Spiderman" McBride made the quickest and fastest motorcycle pass in history with his 5.876/244.74-mph pass at the AMA Prostar race at Virginia Motorsports Park in Richmond, VA. The Top Fuel Motorcycle is powered by a supercharged 1400 cc Puma/Kawasaki engine. The wheelbase is 100 inches from center axle to center axle.

NHRA BLOWN PRO MODS RULE CHANGE
DRO has been informed that NHRA has decided
to allow the supercharged teams that compete
in the NHRA AMS Staff Leasing Pro Mod Challenge
at the upcoming NHRA national event at Joliet,
IL to compete at that event using 25 percent
overdrive on the

blower
instead of the 20 percent overdrive just mandated
by IHRA for Pro Mod cars effective at their
national event in Richmond, VA at the end of
this month.
NHRA was going to enforce that rule change
at Joliet next week, but found out that the
manufacturers of the pulleys don't have them
available to the racers and won't have for about
30 days. Which means the AMS Pro Mods won't
have to go to 20 percent overdrive until June
17-20 at the NHRA event at Englishtown.

CRUISE SCHEDULE FOR THE
GREEK FLEET
As
you all know, the DRO staff are unabashed fans
of Chris Karamesines so we're happy to pass
along the date for one of his infrequent match
races. The legendary "Greek" will be match racing
with almost 20-year-old driver Josh Starcher
at Cordova Dragway, Saturday June 26 for that
track's "Slingshot Nationals" which features
nostalgia front-motored fuel cars. That appearance
is smack in the middle of the NHRA St. Louis
national event. Friday night qualifying at St.
Louis, then a blast to Cordova for Nostalgia
front-motored cars under the lights, and then
back to St. Louis for eliminations on Sunday!
Can you say road trip? (Jeff
