SCHUMACHER SHOVELS FOR
NEW SHOP
Groundbreaking
took place on Aug. 24 at the Brownsburg, Indiana
site where Don Schumacher Racing will build
a 100,000-sq. ft., $5 million facility.
Schumacher Racing will occupy 70,000 sq. ft.
of the L-shaped building with the remaining
space slated for six 5,000 sq. ft. tenant suites.
The building is expected to be completed in
February 2005.
The building will have room for 14 18-wheel
transporters, engine shops for Top Fuel, Funny
Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Bike, a full fabrication
shop, a full machine shop, plus all of the
Don Schumacher Racing administrative offices,
conference facilities, fitness and break rooms.
“What will make the shop unique from
many other shops is that all of the teams will
work in the shop right out of the 18-wheelers
as if they were at the track,” said Mike
Lewis, Executive Vice President of Don Schumacher
Racing. “They’ll work in the shop
the same as at the track. Everything will be
at their fingertips, regardless of whether
they’re in Seattle or Brownsburg.” (photo

MAYBE JUST BLING
The Agent was interested in the arrival of
CMKX to the sponsorship world of drag racing
and did a little checking on the Canadian diamond
mining organization which has announced sponsorship
of Jeff Arend (shown), Jim Dunn, and Connie
Cohen. Shares in the company were valued at
0.0003 cents each as of Aug. 25.
Hmmm. . .the Agent has a spare ten bucks.
. .maybe he’ll just buy 33,333 shares
and go to the CMKX Shareholders Party to be
held during the NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals.
We’d like to see who all owns the 800
billion shares that have been issued. Stay
tuned. (Tom West photo) [8-25-2004]
