JUST CALL HIM GRAMPS
John Force became a grandfather for the first
time on Sept. 10 when Autumn Danielle was born
to Force's oldest daughter, Adria, and her
husband, Robert Hight.
Force had predicted that the baby would be
a girl because, "us Forces don't have
boys," a reference to his four children,
all girls. Looks like Grandpa was correct.
Congratulations to all. [9-13-2004]
GO JR. UPGRADES HIS SEAT
It
looks like Gary Ormsby Jr., the son of 1989
Top Fuel NHRA champion Gary Ormsby, has upgraded
to his NHRA Top Fuel license over the weekend
running a 4.94 at over 300 mph. He'd planned
to get into the seat of the new Menards/ColorFast
Top Fuel dragster at the 50th annual U.S. Nationals,
but licensing gremlins prevented that. GO Jr.
is piloting a brand-new Brad Hadman chassis
for team owner and former drag boat and Busch
Series competitor Dexter Tuttle.
The new Top Fuel team will reportedly skip
the Reading, PA race and head to Dallas for
their competition debut along with Funny Car
teammate Jim Head. Former Force Racing crewman
Dean Westmoreland will serve as crew chief
for the dragster with Richard Hogan consulting
on the nitro tune-up. (photo
